7 March 2023, Bonn – In a ceremony at the DHL Express headquarters Barbara Frencia, CEO in Business Assurance, handed John Pearson, DHL Express Global CEO, the certificates as proof of their achievement.
DHL Express is the world’s leading logistics company. It employs 120,000 persons in over 220 countries and territories. The DHL Express management system certification includes over 1200 sites in 100+ countries worldwide.
“I am very honored to hand over the quality and environmental certificates to DHL Express today. It is truly a testimony to the dedication this company has to continually improve, deliver on its objectives and contribute to sustainability,” says Barbara Frencia, CEO of Business Assurance in DNV.
Currently DHL’s management system certification scope covers the standards ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 50001 (energy). DHL Express is adding certification to ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) starting in 2023.
“At DHL Express no one is afraid of ISO audits because we’re maintaining our integrated Management Systems throughout the year and any auditor can visit us anytime. We translate the term Management Systems to “our way of working” as ISO requirements are integrated into our day-to-day business without the need to do anything on top. Especially the ISO 14001, 50001 and 45001 standards help us to drive our Sustainability roadmap and to achieve our ESG targets,” says Heike Goerl, Head of Quality, Environment and Energy Management & Sustainability of DHL.
