Long distance
Smart Cable Guard is able to monitor long distances of different types and ages of cables, including switchgear and substations with one single unit. Up to 15 kilometres (10 miles) of XLPE cable and 6 kilometres (4 miles) of PLIC cable can be monitored with low noise.
Accurate pinpointing
Weak spots and faults in cables can be pinpointed with an accuracy of less then 1 percent of the length of the circuit. We can do even better: actually we reach an accuracy of 0.3 percent of the length of the circuit.

You will receive information about a fault or weak spot and its location within 5 minutes by SMS and/or email through automated algorithms.

Smart Cable Guard can monitor multiple cable segments of different ages and materials with on system. It monitors, detects and reports faults and partial discharges and their locations, so you own a 2-in-1 system.The system detects 65% of the weak spots and 99% of the faults before they become fatal and cause a unforeseen interruption of the power supply.
High quality
Smart Cable Guard is capable of detecting Partial Discharge (PD) activities using two patented time-synchronized sensors which continuously communicate with each other through the cable that is being monitored. The sensors use the live circuit itself to communicate and to check the level of sensitivity that is reached today and for as long as it is monitoring the circuit.
